CANACONA: A local train going to Karwar from Pernem was held up after the train developed a mechanical failure.
As usual the local train with 3 compartments bearing number 70103 started from Pernem for onward journey to Karwar at 9.35 am, when it reached at Verna at 11 am it developed a technical snag and was held up on the tracks till it was rectified by the engineering dept of the Konkan railways. This led to delay of other trains.
The trains affected by this incident were Rajdhani Express plying from Trivandrum to Delhi got held up at Karwar station and Konkan Kannya plying from Mumbai to Margao got held up at Karmali station as per the information provided by the deputy manager KRCL Baban Gadge.
