MARGAO: A medical check up of at least 458 urban homeless persons housed at shelter home at indoor stadium, Navelim, was held on Wednesday.
The medical check was conducted by Dr Pranav Bhagwat, Dr Parthamesh Karpe, Dr Vishakha Moghe and Dr Sneha Bhagwat. The protocol to be followed during check up was given by Dr Ira Almeida, Dr Deepa Afonso and Dr Urvi Kamat.
Out of the 458 examined, three had high fever and were later treated at Hospicio, two had cough, one complained of dry cough, four had convulsion, and two had bruises. All the others were found in good health.
Food and toiletries are provided to the persons at the relief camp. Also sports goods like cricket, football, rings, ludo etc were provided to the homeless people. Books were distributed to the homeless. Arrangements are also made for providing showers and 10 toilets for cleanliness.
Meanwhile, the Margao municipality, doctors and other officials distributed clothes to the homeless at a shelter home. Bed-sheets were provided to homeless at SGPDA Ground, too.
