MARGAO: The Cavelossim village panchayat in association with GVK EMRI services held a first responders course on Sunday at the panchayat hall.
“Many villagers took part in the day-long program where medical experts from GVK held various talks on choking, cardiac arrest, and other accidents were given to the participants,” said Dixon Vaz, Cavelosim Sarpanch.
The participants were also shown demonstrations by the medical experts on how to respond in any emergencies.
All the participants were given certificates after the day-long course.
“This program was very successful with large numbers of people signing up in order to save lives and this was extraordinary to see the people’s participation,” Vaz added.
Earlier, the Cavelossim Parish priest Fr Ubaldo Fernandes blessed the program. Bosco Rodrigues, the coordinator of the program said he was pleased to see the response from the youth.
Panch Delfina Luis proposed the vote of thanks.
