MARGAO: The medical team on Wednesday completed the swab collection of the residents of the containment zone atop Moti Dongor and the tests of 100 samples came negative.
The team has now shifted its focus to Cuncolim after the local MLA tested positive.
The team incharge for collection of swabs informed that they have completed the swab collection of the entire containment zone of Moti Dongor.
The team collected over 900 samples from the entire locality and 100 of those samples have tested negative.
Dr Ira Almeida informed that the medical teams will now focus on the contact tracing and swab collection of people from the areas of the Cuncolim MLA, who tested positive.
Meanwhile, the seven shops in the entire zone have been directed to supply essential items to Monte Hill residents. Out of fear and to prevent the spread of virus, the shops had down their shutters thereby putting the residents in a fix.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat said, “The shops will be supplying the essential goods to the people. The Collector has assured to rope in wholesalers to supply goods directly to Monte Hill if the stocks exhaust”.
