PANJIM: In yet another innovative move forward, the `GTDC Club Goa’ card for tourists and visitors will have an exciting new medical service available and included in the existing chart of privileges and services.
The new service will be called the “Club Goa PLUS” service whereby hospitals, private practitioners, dentists and doctors will be presented an opportunity to project their services onto the ”GTDC Club Goa’ card through the ‘Club Goa PLUS’ program thereby connecting demand to supply across the board.
The same idea will act as a guide for the tourists in terms of the availability and quality of medical benefits in Goa.
According to Shawn Gracias, Chairman of “Club Goa” the tourists/visitors to Goa also invariably include a visit to a dentist or a spa or any other health parameter for a regular medical check-up along with their holiday schedule to Goa.
“That’s the concept of “Medical Tourism” and we believe that through the “’Club Goa Plus” service, the results will be achieved eventually,” said Gracias.
Gracias also added that dentistry is primarily an important option to start with and our team is exploring the idea of highlighting, presenting and communicating to numerous private dentists to offer special services and claimed that the idea has been widely accepted and encouraged by the medical community in Goa.
Gracias claimed that gradually the concept will transcend beyond dentistry and other service providers like the “Gracias Hospital-Margao”, “CMM hospital-Althinho” and a host of other primary health centers will be included in due course.
