Mediclaim scheme agency by Jan-end

PANJIM: Goa government will finalise an insurance agency for the Deen Dayal Swasthya Suraksha Yojna, a mediclaim scheme, by end of this month from among 11 companies which have bid for the tender.

PANJIM: Goa government will finalise an insurance agency for the Deen Dayal Swasthya Suraksha Yojna, a mediclaim scheme,  by end of this month from among 11 companies which have bid for the tender. 
Health Minister Laxmikant Parsekar told a press conference on Tuesday that queries of all the companies have been answered by the government. “We will finalise the agency by end of this month. We are working on the issue, and registration will start immediately,” he said. 
Total around 3.20 lakh families are expected benefit from the mediclaim scheme. While a family of two members will get maximum insurance of Rs 2.5 lakh, a three-member family will get Rs 3 lakh. A four member family will be covered with Rs 3.5 lakh insurance cover, while five member family will get Rs 4 lakh and families comprising over 5 members will be given a maximum Rs 4.5 lakh insurance benefit. 
There is no income limit to avail the benefit and the implementation will replace the existing government mediclaim scheme.
