MARGAO: The Indian Medical Association Margao unit lit candles at a solemn function inside the compound of Ravindra Bhavan Margao as a mark of respect for the Indian soldiers killed by the terrorist suicide bomber.
“This is a small gesture that symbolizes the pain the civilians feel about the manner in which our soldiers were killed,” said Margao Municipal Council Chairperson Dr Babita Prabhudessai while IMA Margao President Dr. Sudhir Shet announced that they will be starting a collection for the families of the jawans which would be routed through the proper authorities.
Meanwhile the Fatorda Bharatiya Janata Party who were supposed to have a candle light march from Ravindra Bhavan at 6.30 pm joined the IMA programme as there were only 10 people gathered for their programme till 7 pm.
Later, there was a candlelight procession from Ravindra Bhavan to the temple.
