MARGAO: An urgent meeting was convened at the Rachol Village Panchayat to address the issue of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) active workers where officials of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and Salcete Block Development Office (BDO) were present.
Sarpanch Joseph Vaz stated that at the meeting, they discussed the urgent works which were sanctioned and pending for execution. It was decided that these works be taken up on priority basis by next week as per availability of construction materials and manpower.
The Deputy Sarpanch and panch present at the meeting added that the panchayat must enroll more workers under the MGNREGA scheme for which the Sarpanch and Rachol Village Panchayat secretary agreed to make such an appeal to the villagers accordingly.
