MARGAO: A meeting of the shareholders and depositors of the Visionaries Co-operative Society has been convened on February 9.
This information was conveyed to the customers of the society who transacted business at the Loutolim branch.
Members of the administrative committee appointed by the Registrar of Co-operative Societies had come to the Loutolim branch to give out the information. The meeting will be held on February 9 at 4 pm in the evening at Majorda ground.
The Registrar of Co-operative Societies recently appointed an administrator for the Society; a depositor and a shareholder have been appointed as representatives in the committee.
Crores of rupees have been invested/deposited by people in the Loutolim, Majorda as well as Curtorim branches. The people earlier complained that even after having turned bankrupt, the society continued to accept deposits.
