MARGAO: The All Goa Toddy Tappers (AGTT) Employees Association has hit out at another society named All Goa Toddy Tappers Association for creating various problems. According to the AGTT Employees Association their society was registered in the year 1965 while the other group AGTT Association was only registered recently.
AGTT Employees Association Secretary Mario Coutinho and others slammed AGTTA for giving false information to the public. AGTT Employees Association also criticised the AGTT Association for allegedly using machinery, documents which belong to AGTT Employees Association. Coutinho asked why the new group could not function separately. The involvement of a clerk in both the societies were also criticised.
In view of the ongoing controversy regarding fake caste certificates being issued, Coutinho also referred to several investigations that were conducted by the authorities concerned including the Crime Branch, which had passed key orders on that issue. These were based on complaints filed by the AGTT Employees Association. Coutinho further clarified that the AGTT Employees Association had not merged with the AGTT Association and that the former enjoyed a vast membership for years.
