PANJIM: The mishap which occurred on the Zuari Bridge is reminiscent of an incident that took place at Borim Bridge about two decades ago.
A builder from Margao was killed in a similar fashion when his Maruti Alto car crashed through the concrete barrier and fell into the River Zuari.
The police had sought the assistance of the Navy divers to locate and retrieve the ill-fated vehicle and the body. Loutolim, the village from where four victims hailed is a just few kilometres away from Borim bridge. For the villagers of Loutolim, Thursday’s tragic accident brought back memories of the Borim mishap.
