PANJIM: Goa police has improvised the Shramadana Campaign, which involves keeping their surroundings clean and green, by now laying major emphasis on clearing plastic waste and ensuring that all its police stations and their surroundings are garbage-free.
Director General of Police Kishan Kumar said the cleanliness drive will be conducted every Saturday where khaki-men will do the cleaning within a 200-metre radius of each police station as also within the complex.
“It will be done once a week,” Kumar told Herald.

The directions were issued to all superintendents of police, Police Training School, deputy superintendents of police and stations in-charge, Wednesday.
Parrikar had directed that the “areas around all police stations as well as other police buildings should be kept free of plastic garbage.” The state is contemplating to all other government departments.
