Mumbai rains delay all flights to Goa
VASCO: Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, all incoming and outgoing flights to Goa from Mumbai airport got delayed by one to two hours on Tuesday.
According to Airport authority of India (AAI) Goa Airport officials, the runways at the Mumbai airport were intermittently closed at different intervals of the day due to poor visibility, affecting flight schedules as heavy rains lashed Mumbai and its adjoining areas.
“The impact of heavy rains in Mumbai led to delay by one to two hours in the arrival of all flights from Mumbai to Goa. However, no airline suspended their operations. Similarly, all flights to Mumbai from Goa airport also got delayed due to same reason. With regards to the passengers at Goa airport, there was no inconvenience to the passengers as concerned airline companies provided all the facilities to them. Now, since the Mumbai Air Traffic Control permitted flights to operate from Mumbai airport, all incoming flights to Goa from Mumbai started arriving in the evening. Similarly, the outgoing flights to Mumbai from Goa also commenced with delay of one-two hours,” said AAI Director BCH Negi.
