PANJIM: Warning fishermen from venturing into the sea during the next five days, the Met department has advised against going deep into the sea October 7 onwards owing to the development of a low-pressure belt.
“A low pressure is likely to develop over South-East Arabian Sea around October 6. It is likely to intensify into a depression and move north-west during the subsequent 48 hours,” the Met Department said.
“Fishermen are advised not to venture into south-east and east-central Arabian Sea from October 7 onwards,” the department said, urging fishermen, who are in the deep sea, to return to the coast before this.
Post monsoon showers have lashed several parts of the State in the last three days, bringing 23.6mm of rainfall, which is 64 percent less than the normal average of 31.8mm. Met department has predicted thundershowers along with lightening and gusty winds for the State for next couple of days.
