PONDA: MGP leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar on Wednesday accused the government of “looting” the unemployed youth by charging between Rs 100 and Rs 500 for job recruitment forms.
He said, “Charging a hefty amount for application forms is great injustice to unemployed youth. If the government claims that it is of Bahujan people then it should stop this exploitation and make the job recruitment forms available between Rs 5 and 10.”
He said, “The government recently went on advertising hundreds of posts. Even for 20 government posts, nearly 7,000-10,000 unemployed youth apply at a time. However, these youth have to pay between Rs 200 and Rs 500 for these application forms.”
and if we calculate, the total amount collected by the government towards recruitment forms is massive.”
“Why such a huge amount is collected from the unemployed youth who are not in position to pay. When only 20 youth will get jobs then why are all these youth forced to pay this amount for the forms,” he questioned.
Bhatikar said, “Several youth from Ponda approached me complaining that for the past over a year they wasted between Rs 1,200 and Rs 1,500 on buying of five-six application forms to various government posts. However, neither did they get any job nor did they learn who got these jobs or whether they were scrapped.”
