MGP chief refutes allegations over Banastarim market

PONDA: MGP President and former Priol MLA Deepak Dhavalikar on Wednesday rejected the allegations made by Bhoma Adkona Panchayat that he failed to renovate and reconstruct Banastarim Market.

Addressing the media, Deepak claimed that the ongoing reconstruction of Banastarim Market was planned by him.

“I was instrumental in getting land for the project which was in possession of National Highways Authority of India. However work was delayed as 2017 election had approached”, he said.

“It is waste of tribal money as the work was possible through general category fund. If ST fund is used then 80 per cent shops will be allotted to tribal community. ST fund should be only used only for welfare of tribals”, he said.
