PONDA: Former PWD Minister Ramakrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar addressing media along with his supporters on Monday at Kavlem at the side lines of a notebooks and uniform distribution programme to students through Madhavrao Dhavalikar trust, said that Congress, MGP alliance can win 26 seats in Goa in the next Assembly election.
However, considering the defection in Congress in which MLAs are leaving the party and joining other parties it appears it would be difficult to achieve the target of 26 seats.
He said Congress President itself announced that the BJP is trying to poach their MLAs. He said recently he heard two to four MLAs are likely to defect and join BJP.
He said MGP had resolved to support Congress with the support Congress received in the recent election, but the defections had made MGP to rethink on it. The right political decision, however, would be taken only when next elections will come.
Sudin Dhavalikar further appealed the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar not to halt the sewerage project proposed at Undir in Bandora. He said “Government had got all approval, including NGT clearance and the few people residing outside the 200 metres from the project site are opposing it for political reasons. I appeal the PWD Minister and Chief Minister not to stop the STP Work at Undir,” he added.
Sudin Dhavalikar demand total six year ban on defection of MP, MLA and even councillor defecting their original party. He appealed government to conduct repairs works of all government schools before monsoon as primary students are facing hardship in absence of delay in repair works.
He also appealed to recruit the necessary teachers in primary and secondary schools where there shortage of teachers.
