MGP demands extension of Eklavya Coaching Scheme to all categories

PONDA: MGP Working Committee treasurer Anant Naik along with other office bearers, panchs of various panchayats in Ponda Taluka demanded the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to extend the Eklavya Coaching Scheme which was launched for Schedule Tribe (ST) students to Other Backward Class (OBC) and Economically Backward Classes( EBC). 

Addressing the media persons, Anant said, “There should not be differentiation and limitations with respect to educational facilities and it should be available to all economically backward students of all castes.”

He congratulated the chief minister for launching this coaching scheme, however expressed regret that this scheme is restricted to ST students only. 

He said, “Not only for ST but this scheme has to be made open and reach all poor class including, OBC and EBC students in Goa. Every child born has right to education.”
