PANJIM: The State government has re-constituted a panel of eight lawyers under senior advocate Pinaki Mishra to defend the State in Mhadei water diversion matter before the Supreme Court and Tribunal.
An order in this regard was issued on March 19 by Under Secretary Law Premraj Shirodkar.
“The Government of Goa is pleased to re-constitute the panel for representing the State of Goa in Mhadei matter before the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi and Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal at New Delhi as and when matter come up for hearing,” the order stated.
The panel includes senior advocate Pinaki, Adv Sanjay Upadhaya, Adv Pratap Venugopal, Adv Vishnuprasad Lawande, Adv Sanjay Sardessai, Adv Shivadatta Munj, Adv Geetesh Shetye and Adv Ankita Kamat.
The government had last year relieved Additional Solicitor General of India, Atmaram Nadkarni from representing Goa in any matter before the Supreme Court or NGT or any court outside Goa including Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal.
