MAYEM: A three-day farmers’ seminar at Bicholim has unanimously resolved to oppose Karnataka’s move to divert Mhadei river water.
The resolution was taken at the valedictory function of the three-day grand farmers’ seminar organised by Bharat Swabhimaan Kissan Vikas Parishad at Shetye Udhyan, Bicholim, on Sunday. The resolution was approved under the guidance of Sanquelim MLA Dr Pramod Sawant. Bharat Swabhimaan President Kamlesh Bandekar, Kamlakant Tari, Bharatesh Gullanvar, Sandesh Barazankar, Sandeep Pednekar and others were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, MGP leader from Mayem constituency Milind Pilgaonkar stated that a special resolution opposing the move of the Karnataka government to divert waters of Mhadei river to Karnataka will be taken at a meeting of senior MGP leaders soon. “If the conspiracy of the Karnataka government is opposed unitedly, then there are chances of solving the issue,” he stated.
