PANJIM: Goa’s legal team for Mhadei matter on Tuesday preferred to skip Delhi visit and instead left for Mumbai to attend video conferencing if the Mhadei river dispute matter comes up for hearing before the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Since November last year, Goa’s matter has been listed before the Supreme Court but not heard. In view of this, Goa’s legal team decided to leave for Mumbai where senior advocates Darius Khambata and Venkatesh Dhond, representing the State, will argue the matter through video conferencing.
When contacted, WRD sources said, “We found that there remote chances of the matter being heard on Wednesday since it is listed seventh on the board and the Court will hear miscellaneous matters on Thursday. If at all it is taken up our senior lawyer will argue through video conferencing,” the sources said.
