Renowned Hollywood actor Michael Douglas is set to receive the esteemed Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at the upcoming 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Panjim, Goa from November 20 to 28 this year. The announcement was made by the Information & Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur, who shared the news on social media.
Thakur, using the platform X (formerly known as Twitter), expressed his delight as he revealed, “I am delighted to announce that Michael Douglas, the distinguished Hollywood actor and producer, will be bestowed with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at the 54th International Film Festival Goa. His profound affection for our country, , is widely recognized, and we eagerly anticipate the arrival of him, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and their son, at South Asia’s most prominent Film Festival. They will have the opportunity to showcase our rich cinematic culture and unique traditions at #IFFI54!! A warm welcome to Bharat and @IFFIGoa.”
Michael Douglas had previously received an invitation to IFFI earlier this year when he visited the Indian Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival.
