PANJIM: Weeks after he was summoned by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to Delhi for his outbursts against the party, Dy Speaker and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo was at it again saying there is discontent amongst the people over the prevailing political situation.
Lobo posted on social media that he expects elections to be held soon. “There is complete unrest in Goan society, especially among politicians, about the state of affairs in the Goa government. Nobody knows what is going to happen, which MLA will leave and join another party. Under such circumstances, I feel the Assembly will be dissolved soon. We politicians are taking the people for granted. There will be a major change soon,” Lobo posted on Facebook.
He added, “In a democracy, there is a ruling side and an opposition. It is the duty of the opposition to highlight the issues of the people. When people vote for a person of a certain party, they expect the MLA to stay in that party and not join another party, because that does not benefit the people. It only benefits the MLA.”
Lobo appears to be indirectly referring to recent induction of two former Congress leaders Subhash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte into the BJP.
