He along with a Sattara (Maharashtra) resident Rangkumar were arrested while three others managed to give the cops the slip.
Police sources said that the occupants travelling in Wagon R had banged into a motorcyclist in Kankavli. “They were escaping when the motorcyclist informed the police. Two were caught but three others escaped,” the official said.
The car reportedly belongs to a person from Chimbel. Sources also said that Nawbagi has been involved in a number of criminal cases in Goa with the recent being Kankavli-like accident in Sanquelim.
A team of Goa police is headed to Kankavli to take custody of the local accused.
