Reacting over the issue before the media persons, Pacheco stated that the plan initiated in the year 2008-09, during his tenure as tourism minister was not implemented properly, and the funds granted has been misused.

“This development works and the beautification which has been inaugurated on Saturday are not according to the plans initiated for sanctioning the Central grants. The government needs to give clarifications if the plans have been revised or not. And if revised, why is this new plan not brought to the notice of the public and the local authorities?,” he questioned.

Pacheco further claimed that there were different plans which were initiated in order to develop the coastal belt. However, all those things are missing from the present works.

“According to the earlier plan, a rotating tower at Colva, boat walk, illumination and other facilities were supposed to be developed. Shockingly, now we can notice the walls being built obstructing the sea view at Colva,” he stated.
