Mickky favours dissolution of Assembly, fresh elections

Keeping his fingers crossed over his induction in the Digambar Kamat Ministry after the visit of AICC observer B Hariprasad, former Tourism Minister Mickky Pacheco has asserted the Congress leaders should go for dissolution of the Assembly and call for fresh elections for a clean mandate from the people of Goa.
“May God put in the heads of the Congress leaders to dissolve the Assembly, impose President’s rule and hold fresh polls”, Pacheco said, while exuding confidence that the NCP would romp home with a comfortable majority in the Assembly to form the next government.
Reacting to Hariprasad’s statement that he cannot be inducted in the Kamat Ministry, Mickky said the NCP is all geared up to field candidates in all the 40 Assembly seats and have the capability enough to win around 23-24 seats.
Saying that no one can take away the Nuvem seat from him in the coming hustings, Mickky said that the people of Nuvem constituency are strongly behind him.
“So overwhelming has been the support of the people of Nuvem to my candidature, that I will campaign in other constituencies to drum up support for the NCP candidates”, he said.
When asked whether the Goa unit of the NCP is heading for a split in the Legislative and organizational wings, Pacheco said these are issued to be decided and commented by the experts in the party set up.
“These are all technical issues that will be decided by the party leadership”, he added.
“Those who have made statements against the Alliance government are immature politicians. These people are not mature politicians”, he said, adding that the dissolution of the House, imposition of President’s Rule followed by fresh polls is the only option for the Congress leaders for violating the coalition dharma.
