Mickky moves notice against CM for breach of privilege
HERALD REPORTER
PANJIM, AUG 2
Ex-tourism minister Mickky Pacheco moved a notice for breach of privilege against Chief Minister Digambar Kamat. Acknowledging the receipt of the notice, Speaker Pratapsing Rane said he is yet to examine it when Pacheco made a mention of the notice in the house during “Zero Hour.”
The notice refers to a statement made by the chief minister last week that he had not spoken to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) national president Sharad Pawar or general secretary Praful Patel regarding removing Pacheco from the ministry.
While speaking before assembly, last week, a day after his release from Sada jail, Pachecho had alleged that the chief minister had misled Pawar on ‘clinching evidence” against him in the Nadia Torrado case.
Immediately refuting the charge the chief minister had said that he had not spoken to Pawar or Patel over asking Pacheco to quit from the cabinet.
It is learnt that Pacheco has attached newspaper copies which had reported Kamat as saying that he had spoken to Pawar on the day Pacheco had put in his papers as minister for tourism and ports.
