MARGAO: Goa Vikas Party leader Mickky Pacheco has promised to solve the acute housing problem faced by the Scheduled Tribe community in Nuvem, as he moved door-to-door in Kirbhat area on Sunday.
Accompanied by a band of supporters, including ZP member Wilfred D’Sa, Pacheco visited house to house in the locality, seeking blessings of the voters to usher a change in the constituency. “The sitting MLA has been representing you for the last 17 years. Why did he not provide you a decent housing all these years”, he questioned the local residents and vowed to provide decent shelter within the next five years.
As he moved on, Pacheco landed at the residence of a strong and loyal Alexio supporter and had a long chat with the family. “What has the local MLA done for the ST community all these years”, he asked and asserted that injustice has been done to the ST community by the Congress government all these years.
He later told newsmen that the Congress would not win more than 12 seats in the hustings as the people of Goa have decided to teach the party a lesson for its various sins of omission and commission during the last five years.
