HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, DEC 4
Former Tourism Minister, Mickky Pacheco has moved an application before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao for release of his laptops and mobiles seized by the CBI in connection with the alleged overseas recruitment and money laundering case.
Pacheco’s lawyer, Adv Srikant Naik said the application has been filed since it is now more than a month that the application for release of the items was rejected by the court.
Adv Naik maintained that the CBI had last time around submitted to the court that Pacheco’s three laptops and three mobile phones have been sent for forensic laboratory, Hyderabad for expert examination.
He, however, contended that the items have till date not been returned or released to the Benaulim MLA.
The court has ordered serving of notices on the CBI for a reply. The matter will come up for hearing next week.
