MARGAO: Former minister Mickky Pacheco questioned the decisions taken at the Town and Country Planning Board yesterday and termed them as illegal as the Governor has not yet assented to the amendments passed at the just concluded monsoon Session.
“The Section 16(b), which empowers the Board to make corrections, were passed at the last assembly session and the Governor has not yet assented to the amendments and hence decision taken at the Board meetings are null and void,” he said.
Stating that during his tenure as MLA he had already provided for a 15 mt wide road at Colva where only the bandstand needed to be shifted slightly, he said the present government is only misguiding people.
However, Town and Country Planning Minister Vijai Sardessai dismissed Mickky’s contention and said the Board is empowered to take decisions in interest of the public and further pointed out that yesterday’s meeting is only adjourned.
