Mickky to field candidate against Valanka

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress for promoting dynasties, former Tourism Minister, Mickky Pacheco has vowed to play a major role in the coming Assembly polls and declared plans to field a candidate against PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao’s daughter Valanka in Benaulim.
“Certainly, I will field a candidate in Benaulim constituency after consulting the people, no matter Valanka contests or not. I have got elected thrice from Benaulim within eight years”, Pacheco said, while interacting with newsmen after distribution saplings at the Benaulim Panchayat on Saturday.
Pacheco’s statement assumes significance and comes a day before the Alemao’s are all set to open Valanka’s election office in Benaulim on Sunday.
“I don’t care who is going to contest from Benaulim in the coming polls. But, I would like to state that I will choose a people’s candidate for Benaulim. I may have something in mind, but finally the people will decide on the candidate”, he asserted.
Saying that he cannot stop anyone from contesting any election, the Benaulim MLA, however, reminded that it is finally for the people to choose their representative. “The people of Benaulim have had enough experience in the constituency. Money is not important. Everything depends on how you treat the people”, he added.
