Migrant voters will play crucial role: Yeddy

Says Kannidigas will vote for BJP; prefers for amicable solution to Mhadei dispute

VASCO/PANJIM: Karnataka State BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa, on Tuesday claimed that migrant voters in Goa will play a crucial role to get BJP government elected in the forthcoming assembly polls.
He was addressing a public meeting organised by Cortalim BJP mandal at Zuarinagar on Tuesday. Prabhakar More, Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, BJP candidate from Cortalim Alina Saldanha were present on the occasion.
“The population of Kannidigas in Goa is 4 lakh and this time all these people will vote for BJP. There is no doubt that BJP will form the next government in State with thumping majority,” he said.
On the Mhadei issue he said that there should be an amicable solution to the dispute. 
Speaking to the media in Panjim, Yedurappa said, “We have to sit and discuss the issue in the interest of the States and later finalise, I don’t want to comment anymore on this issue as it is election time.”
Alina said that her late husband Matanhy Saldanha had special concern for the Zuarinagar slum dwellers and that she tried her level best to implement few of his assurances. She promised that after getting elected she would give priority to complete all pending projects in Zuarinagar including legalization of structures.
