MAPUSA: The feast of Our Lady of Miracles (Milagres Saibinnichem fest) at Saint Jerome Church in Mapusa will be celebrated on May 2, 2022.One of the biggest feasts in Bardez, the statue of Our Lady of Miracles carrying Infant Jesus is venerated by Hindus and Christians alike who attend in large numbers by According to the Assistant Parish Priest Fr Basil Pereira, the Masses on the feast day will begin at 5. Konkani, followed by 6.45 a.m in Konkani, 8.a.m. in Konkani, 9.30 a.m in Konkani and 11 a.m. in English. The main celebrant will be Fr Cirpiano Da Silva, parish priest of Taleigao. The theme for the feast this year is “Mary the true and perfect model for the families.’
The Masses in the evening will begin 4 p.m. in Konkani and 5.15 p.m in Konkani. The tradition of pouring oil on the statue of Milagres Saibinn has been existing for many years and still continues till today.
“It’s by faith many miracles take place here. Let Milagres Saibinn bless us all and let this Corona virus be cleared from this world,” said one of the devotees who came all the way from Salcete said after a gap of two years.
Many devotees visited the St Jerome Church on Sunday and poured oil on the Milagres Saibinn statue.
