Milind challenged to give testimony of innocence before Lord Damodar

VASCO: Women groups from Mormugao led by councillors Shraddha Amonkar, Yogita Parsekar and former MMC chairperson Bhavana Bhosle on Friday challenged Mormugao BJP candidate Milind Naik to give testimony of his innocence before Lord Damodar in the alleged sex scandal issue on Monday at 12.30 pm along with his family and five supporters.

Amonkar along with a large number of women, addressing the media also said that she would also come to the temple and confirm that the complaint filed by her husband Sankalp Amonkar against Milind Naik was absolutely true and based on facts and evidences.

“There is no one above God and he knows the truth. We may lie to people but God knows the truth. Police has given a clean chit to Naik and there has been no investigation on complaint that was filed against Naik. Initially they said that the case was transferred and then we were told that the investigation was done by Vasco police but it is shocking that no one of the persons who had complained against Naik was called and we are left to wonder as to who carried out the investigation and when,” said Amonkar.

“BJP government has used its machinery and pressurised the police and closed the case to save Naik, just a day before the candidates were announced. The case was closed so that Naik can be given the BJP ticket. We want to tell the BJP mahila members that if they feel that we are making baseless allegations and Naik is innocent, we challenge him to come to come to the Lord Damodar Temple along with his family members and five supporters and hold a coconut in his hand and deny his involvement of any kind in this scandal or else we will come and confirm that there is absolute truth in our complaint and that all that we have alleged in our complaint are facts based on evidences available,” she added.

“When the police act on the smallest of crime, why police has closed the case and if he is not involved why has he resigned and why is he still hiding. He should have come in the open or file a defamation case against Sankalp Amonkar but he has not done that,” she said.

She further claimed that BJP has no candidate and as such they had given the candidature to Naik again and the people will send him home. “There is nothing more supreme than the divine force who knows the truth. Let him deny that he does not know the victim or that he has never sexually abused her or pressurised her for an abortion. He can fool the people but he cannot fool God. Nevertheless the party will also take the case up with the High Court as well,” said Amonkar.

Former MMC Chairperson Bhavana Bhosle said that Naik never had the respect for women and an audio of his arrogant conversation with Former MMC vice chairperson Reema Sonurlekar had gone viral earlier.

“Naik is also misusing his power to attack activists at police station. Naik has deprived people of small business in the port and even attempted to demolish a religious structure by trying to instigate fights amongst brothers and friends and different people in the society. We wonder how the police can give a clean chit to a person like this,” said Bhosle.
