VASCO: Mormugao MLA Milind Naik had to suspend his victory rally midway after his younger brother Shivram Naik (45), died due to cardiac arrest on Saturday evening.
As per information, the incident reported in the evening but not during the victory rally of Milind Naik. “We all had gathered near Damodar temple in Vasco to seek blessings and then to take out the victory rally. Thus at Damodar temple, Shivram Naik came to join us however in few minutes he started feeling unwell and went back home to take rest. Later in the afternoon, Shivram complained of severe chest pain and was immediately taken to a hospital at Baina and while undergoing treatment, he suffered cardiac arrest and died at around 5 pm,” informed Mormugao BJP Mandal president Sanjay Satardekar. He further said, “Our rally had reached Sada and the moment we got the news, we suspended the rally and rushed to hospital,” he added.
According to sources, Shivram was working in the electricity department in Panjim and was on sick leave since last several months.
