PONDA: Goa Mining People’s Front (GMPF) leader Puti Gaonkar said all mines can be restarted in Goa. He welcomed the permission given on Friday by the Government to Sakhlim Naturamal Mines owned by Harish Melavani who was asked to get Environment Clearance.
Gaonkar said there is no need for Harish Melavni to get EC from the Central Government. He can get it directly from the State Government.
He said as per the amendment to MMDR Act 2015, the mines with more than 100 hundred hectares are required EC clearance from the Central govt and if the lease or concession is less than 99.99 hectares then the State government EC is necessary.
