BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said the government would restart mining in next three months.
Speaking during his visit to Shirgao in Mayem constituency, he said “We will restart mining in next three months. I am aware of the problems faced by the people in the mining belt as I am also from a mining belt.”
At Mayem, the mining workers met the CM and requested him to look into the matter. He assured them that he would convene a meeting with company before Ganesh Chaturthi.
Meanwhile, after giving 100 sanads, Sawant announced that the government would resolve the custodian issue and the cases which were earlier taken up at Panjim would now be heard in the Bicholim Deputy Collector’s office.
“I call upon those who have not applied for their rights as per the law should apply with necessary documents. The hearing of the cases would now be taken up in Bicholim rather than in Panjim,” he said.
“Earlier we were dependent on neighbouring States now we are supplying vegetables to other States. I request all to support us in making Goa swayampurna,” he urged.
