Replying to a question made by a participant on the fate of the vision document in the event of a change in government, Dr Mashelkar said ‘ I have accepted the chairmanship of the Council with a condition “Goa first and a politically neutral government vis-à-vis the vision document”.
Calling upon the youth of Goa to be part of a solution, he underlined the need for the citizens to become responsible citizens first than talking of whole lot of things.
Saying that Goa is above India in respect of the socio-economic indicators, Dr Mashelkar said questions such as how to push forward development without disturbing environment and ecology certainly needs to be addressed by the people. He showered praises on the young minds for putting their ideas on their perception of Goa of the future.
