PANJIM: Up to recently Power Minister Nilesh Cabral had warned the party that if the mining issue isn’t solved it would definitely affect the party’s chances in the ensuing polls.
However on Friday, Cabral said the mining issue will not affect the party. “I don’t think the mining issue will affect, as now the people of Goa have realised that we require BJP,” Cabral said.
He said BJP now has to sit together and chalk out strategies to get both MPs – Shripad Naik and Narendra Sawaikar elected in the State
On the Goa Mining People’s Front warning that they would work against the BJP in the polls, Cabral replied it would not have any impact. “Be it GMPF or any other opposition, they can try and we are sure to win all three by-polls and Lok Sabha polls,” he stated.
He said that BJP karyakartas will work to see that BJP candidates are elected.
