PANJIM: Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaocar on Friday filed a police complaint with Panjim police station against Medha Parulekar (wife of Dilip Parulekar) and Jayesh Samant for defaming him and his brother-in-law by circulating defamatory material through social media and personal messages to Saligao constituency people.
Addressing the media, Salgaocar said, “Jayesh Samant deliberately with mala fide intention and in connivance with some unknown persons has mad false and defamatory personal allegations that I am trying to protect a rape accused one Biradar Basu. He has also cast aspersions and false accusations against my brother-in-law Rohit Parulekar.”
He said, “The false and fabricated allegations are aimed at tarnishing my public image and have also caused extensive damage to my reputation as the public representative of Saligao constituency.”
“They are trying to show that I am protecting the rapists in Nerul case involving a minor. I have registered a complaint against Parulekar’s wife and Jayesh Samant,” Salgaocar said.
