MAPUSA: Revolutionary Goans, a non-political organisation has written to the Heath Minister demanding reservation of jobs for those of Goan origin in the vacancies advertised recently, at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
The founder member of Revolutionary Goans, Manoj Parab told Herald that on August 28 an advertisement was published of over 800 vacancies and post that needed to be filled at GMC.
“We have written to the Health Minister and marked a copy the Chief Minister regarding the vacancies in GMC and the need to fill them with people of Goan origin only. It is noticed that the department has advertised vacancies to be filled under the Government of Goa recently in local newspapers. We request the government to make provisions in the recruitment process so that preference is given to only Goans (only Person of Goan Origin) while filling these posts. Thereby helping the Goans to get employment which eventually lowers the unemployment problem in Goa,” said Parab.
“If we see the current rate of unemployed youth in Goa is huge. It is obvious that thousands of candidates will be applying for the said posts whose application forms are available only at GMC,” he added.
Revolutionary Goans requests the government to make these application forms available in all the Primary Health Centers and Mamlatdar Offices in all the talukas in Goa so that the desired candidates can get these forms at their nearest locations.
At the same time they are totally hopeful and expecting that their demands will be considered positively and fulfilled by the government.
