PANJIM: The Women’s Police Station arrested a minor for allegedly raping and impregnating a minor girl.
According to the police, the incident came to light when the victim girl was diagnosed as pregnant.
The doctors informed the police about the incident which led to the Women’s Police Station registering a case and arresting the accused. Since the accused is a minor, he was produced before the Juvenile Justice Court.
A case under section 376 of IPC and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) has been registered against him.
Mumbai man held for raping teenaged girl
PANJIM: The Panjim police arrested a 43-year-old man from Mumbai on the charge of raping a minor girl.
According to the police, the accused was arrested after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint. The police said the accused Vijay Parmarth befriended the 17-year-old victim and later allegedly raped her which led to the victim being diagnosed as pregnant.
A case has been registered under section 376 of IPC and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Further investigation is underway, police said.
