Women protesters in Mirabag were seen observing traditional customs even as their protest continued at the site. As part of Shigmostav celebrations, they prepared and served food in keeping with long-standing village traditions. Shigmostav is a major Hindu festival where visiting groups arrive with sacred ‘Taranga’ umbrellas and are offered meals. Despite expressing anger over their situation, the women maintained the ritual practice, saying they were compelled to balance protest with cultural responsibilities.
