MARGAO: A person was detained by the Fatorda police for damaging the statue of Our Lady of Vailankanni in Borda. The incident happened at 8 am after one person named Santosh Prasad and aged 34 years, damaged the statue located near Multipurpose College Borda, by pelting stones.
Members of the public apprehended the said person and handed him over to Fatorda Police. In this connection, Fatorda Police station registered offences under section 295 and 427 of IPC. The accused person was also referred for a medical examination.
