MAPUSA: Unknown miscreants set fire to three two-wheelers and two cycles which were parked outside the residence of Rajan Volvoikar in Khursa Vaddo in Carona, Aldona.
The incident was noticed at 1 am on Sunday when someone started honking loudly and on venturing out, a neighbour noticed the inferno and alerted the people around. The house owner was informed and so was the fire brigade and police.
Firemen later doused the flames but could not do much to save the bikes and cycles which were completely burnt to ashes by then. Wooden frames of the house were also partially destroyed. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained but the loss was estimated at around Rs 3.5 lakhs.
