PONDA: The ‘wrong’ distance between Farmagudi and Panjim has been finally rectified, after authorities reacted to a Herald report and corrected a misleading milestone located at Farmagudi-Ponda.
It may be recalled that a misleading milestone installed along the NH4A near an educational institute at Farmagudi had indicated the distance from Ponda to Panjim as 127 kms.
Interestingly, towards the other side of the milestone, the milestone indicates 127 kms to reach Belgaum and enquiries had revealed that the mistake could have happened while re-painting the milestone.
Taking cognizance of a Herald report highlighting the glaring error, authorities finally rectified the misleading milestone and after correction, it now shows the distance to Panjim as 27 kms.
