Missing minor girl reported kidnapped, second case in Salcete this week

MARGAO: A 17-year-old girl who went missing from her workplace has been reported kidnapped by an unknown individual, marking the second such incident in Salcete within one week.

The Maina-Curtorim police, based on a complaint filed by her father, have registered the offence under Section 363 of the IPC for kidnapping and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act. The father stated in his complaint that his daughter was taken from his legal guardianship by an unknown person.

According to the police, the girl, originally from Uttar Pradesh, arrived in Goa in February and was residing with her parents. She secured a job at a private factory in Salcete and began working from February 17. However, within a few days, she was reportedly kidnapped by an unknown individual. The father filed the complaint with the police, and based on his report on March 23, an offence was registered against the unknown perpetrator.

Police have gathered descriptions of the victim and have sent wireless messages across Goa and nearby states. Sources within the police department revealed that the father works as a labourer. PSI Prashant Bhagat is leading the investigation.
