Calangute: A native of Punjab who had been missing since 2021 was traced in Saligao on Thursday. Saligao PI Milind Bhuimbar said a team of Punjab police headed by ASI Jasmeer Singh appeared at the Saligao police station and requested to trace the victim person identified as Manpreet Singh, 26, a native of Mangad, Fatehgrah Sahib, Punjab.
A case of wrongful confinement in secret under Section 346 had been registered in 2021 at Amloh police station, Punjab. The Punjab police team arrived in Goa after they received information that the missing person was in Saligao.
On receipt of the Punjab police request, a team of Saligao police headed by PSI Atikesh Khedekar immediately swung into action and with the information and hectic efforts traced the victim person at Saligao and handed him over to ASI Jasmer Singh for further investigation, PI Bhuimbar said.
