SANGUEM: With the bugle for the Lok Sabha elections sounded, the Assistant Returning Officer Sanguem Pravin Gawas, in association with South Goa District Returning Officer, conducted a one act play in the remote Verlem ward of Sanguem constituency to create awareness among the voters from the constituency.
The play enacted by the officials from the Sanguem Mamlatdar Office and Booth Level Officers was well received by the audience. A folk dance was also presented by the local group on the occasion.
The play gave a clear cut message for the people to cast their vote and also go by the slogan ‘One Vote One Plant’.
The voters were also made aware of the enrolment process for the new electorates.
Assistant Returning Officer Pravin Gawas urged the people to come in large numbers in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. A particularly appeal was made to the voters from remote Verlem and Salgini booth to create a record of cent per cent voting.
Gawas during his visit to the remote village, which is known for strawberry farming, appreciated the villagers for their hard work and putting in all efforts in the cultivation of strawberry despite the initial hurdles and making the little village known all over Goa.
