PANJIM: There were mixed reactions from the BJP State unit over the controversy surrounding the proposed bifurcation of PDAs.
Ex-minister Rajendra Arkekar opined that expansion of PDAs should be executed only if there is a need, which BJP president Vinay Tendulkar supported. Laxmikant Parsekar hinted that Pernem does not require to come under the PDA. “If there really is a need, PDAs should be created. It should not be created to please others,” Arlekar said referring to the demands of the coalition partners for separate PDAs. He was speaking to the media after a meeting with the party office bearers at the BJP headquarters on Monday.
“Today Goa is witnessing increased urbanisation and if there is a need government will take an appropriate decision,” Tendulkar said.
The party also opened up over the unhappiness expressed by MLA Michael Lobo on the issue. Tendulkar said the MLA has not expressed his unhappiness. “There are statements being made over several issues through the media. But I feel that the aggrieved persons should talk to the Chief Minister,” he said.
